Maintenance
Plastic (PU, PVC) strap
  • In ordinary use, a PICONO plastic (PU, PVC) strap lasts about 18 months. How long it lasts depends on how often you wear it and the conditions it is in.
  • Do not let the strap touch acetone or other solvents when you clean it. For marks, use an eraser or a soft cloth with a little soapy water, then leave the strap to dry in the shade.
Metal strap
A metal strap can tarnish if you wear it often, sweat in it, or use it for watersports. Clean the metal with a little soapy water. If it is very dirty, use a soft brush, then wipe it dry with a clean cloth.
Leather strap
  • Keep a leather strap out of water. If you often wear the watch in water, choose a plastic (PU, PVC) or stainless steel strap. Leather is damaged by long contact with water.
  • With long wear, the leather darkens. That is normal.
Stainless steel strap
Stainless steel resists chemical oxidation, but sweat and watersports can still leave marks. In ordinary use, check and clean the strap every one to two months with a little soapy water. For heavier dirt, use a soft brush, then dry the watch with a clean cloth.
Waterproof gasket
  • Each PICONO watch is fitted with a gasket to keep water out. The gasket ages with use, and water resistance falls over time.
  • If you use the watch for watersports, have it checked regularly, especially after seawater or chemicals, which wear the seals. Afterwards, rinse it with clean water, or wipe it with a soft cloth and a little soapy water. Dry the case, case back, and crown with a dry cloth.
Water resistance
  • PICONO water resistance meets the stated standard. “Water Resistant” is marked on the case back, and the watch is tested to ISO 22810.
  • Three atmospheric pressure (3ATM - 30m): suitable for clear or rainy weather. Do not immerse the watch.
  • Five atmospheric pressure (5ATM - 50m): suitable for a swimming pool and everyday use.
  • Ten atmospheric pressure (10ATM - 100m): suitable for swimming, diving, and watersports.
Screw-down case back
The case back is screwed down to help keep water out. The logo and lettering on the back may not line up with the same angle as the front. That is normal for this type of case. If that alignment matters to you, this case back may not be the right choice.
